CC Residence
CC Residence is a prototype exploring how affordable
materials and simple yet creative spatial solutions can shape functional,
flexible homes. Designed for a couple and their child within a limited budget,
it serves as a model for how similar approaches can be applied to homes for
young families, couples, or professionals to meet their everyday needs.
The design embraces a minimal material palette—stained birch plywood and stainless steel sheets—while preserving existing flooring, bathrooms, and plumbing to optimize costs. An open living space fosters adaptability, while a seamlessly integrated home office supports remote work for the couple. Efficiently planned cabinetry and closet storage provide everyday convenience without clutter, and tatami flooring in the bedrooms adds warmth and intimacy.
More than just circulation, the staircase serves as a central connector, linking sleep, work, and daily life. Natural and artificial light interplay within the stairwell, reinforcing a sense of spatial continuity.
